PDs are responsible for overseeing every aspect of the program including, but not limited to, the health and safety of all participants, the enjoyment of each and every participant and the execution of the itinerary as planned and outlined by WCC. PDs are responsible for managing a staff team with whom they coach, supervise, and provide on-going feedback to. PDs are also responsible for regular communication with parents, company supervisors and the summer communication center. Minimum age of 23 years old by July 1, 2024.
Program Leader
Our Program Leaders (PL) serve as the backbone of our programs. Working with the PD, the PLs’ goal is to provide a positive group experience helping each teen experience the summer of a lifetime! We take pride in our staff, and expect you to operate as team players, approach the job with enthusiasm, respect others and strive to contribute to what makes Westcoast Connection a special summer for teens. All PLs have specialty roles that are assigned by the PD prior to departure (food director, confirmer, social media specialist, programmer, sports coordinator, etc.). Minimum age of 21 by July 1, 2024.

The lifeguard is responsible for lifeguarding during all water activities and overseeing the safety of all participants while in or around water. Additional compensation is offered to staff (PD or PL) who are lifeguards.

In tandem with the PD, CSMs work with staff and teens to ensure campsite management. CSMs are responsible for all equipment and facilitation of site setup and take-down. CSMs also own the responsibility of purchasing all food items prior to a group’s arrival, keeping in mind dietary restrictions and special requests. CSMs then oversee the preparation, presentation and cleanup of all meals, alongside the Food Director. Minimum age of 21 years old by June 1, 2024.
Communication Center Monitor
A limited number of positions are available in our New York and Montreal offices in the late spring and summer months for Communication Center Monitors. They are the frontline of administrative operations from our office while programs are in progress. They are a critical communication link and assist behind the scenes with logistical support and problem solving. This is a challenging and rewarding position that provides excellent experience in a professional development for teachers seeking administrative positions. As well for anyone interested in careers in the hospitality industry or social work. From time to time, positions are available that offer the best of both worlds, work in the Communication Center for the first half of the summer and serve as a staff on a later departing program.
